Racehorse Retirement at E.A. Ranches

has a long-standing tradition, started by its late founder, Ernest Auerbach, and continuing on to the present. For owners, who “want to do the right thing” and give their old broodmare or injured racehorse a dignified retirement, E.A. Ranches has set aside several spacious pastures. Spread out across the spectacular 1,000-acre property, the retirees are checked upon twice daily during feeding time, and can live out their lives in a natural environment while being well cared for.

While many racehorses can be re-trained and become successful in a different discipline, not all of them are sound enough to have this option, or well-bred enough to retire to the breeding shed. For those that can’t go on to a new career, yet are fortunate to have owners who care beyond the winners’ circle, E.A. Ranches offers an affordable solution.

The basic rate for pasture boarding a retiree is $15 per day. E.A. Ranches takes pride in applying its signature individualized approach to all services offered, and racehorse retirement is no exception.  Please contact  Sherrie Tellam to discuss and determine the specific needs of your retiree.
