Grade-1 Winner Haimish Hy Arrived at E.A. Ranches

Hamish Hy 3Forty Niner grandson and Grade-1 stakes winner Haimish Hy (by Ecton Park), arrived at E.A. Ranches to stand his first season at stud. The Art Sherman-trainee won the 2010 Grade-1 Hollywood Derby and placed in the Grade-2 San Luis Obispo Stakes, the Grade-2 Jim Murray Handicap, and the Grade-3 El Camino Real Derby for total earnings of $360,988.

During a campaign that was conducted exclusively in California and spanned four years, Haimish Hy competed in 13 stakes, ten of them graded, and was on the board in ten of his 19 career starts. Retired to present owner George Krikorian’s private farm in Kentucky, the now 9-year old dark bay or brown horse returns to the state of his impressive racing career to embark on his stallion career. His first foals will arrive in 2017.

Haimish Hy will take up stud duty at E.A. Ranches to continue a sire line that also produced millionaire and Grade-2 Swaps Stakes winner Tres Borrachos, as well as several millionaires and track-record holders in South Korea, where Ecton Park is a leading sire.

Haimish Hy is out of the Argentinian-foaled mare Tifonica, by Equalize, a stakes-placed winner of over $140,000 on the California Circuit herself. A half-sister to Argentinian Group-1 winner Tifosi, she also produced a top class runner in the winning filly Agrija (by Scat Daddy), who is Grade-1-placed in the Russian Super Oaks, and stakes-placed gelding Keno George (by Stormello).

Haimish Hy’s stud fee has been set at $1,500 (LFSN), and he will be offered complimentary to approved mares.
